James Vaudreuil

May 9, 1956 — March 2, 2024

James Frederick Vaudreuil was born on May 9th 1956 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin to Jack and Vivian Vaudreuil. Known to family and friends as Jim, he was the oldest of 8 siblings; John, Joe, Tom, Bill, Mike, Kati, and Laura.

On Saturday March 2nd, Jim left us peacefully with gentle wind in his sails and deep powder beneath his skis. He was surrounded by his wife Christine, his daughter Isabel, and many other loved ones. Following a recurrence of esophageal cancer, he spent his remaining time sharing love, experiences, and memories with the many people who have filled his life with adventure, fun, and purpose. Jim loved working with people and worked almost 5 decades in the family business applying his intellectual curiosity for innovation, dedication to environmental stewardship and then his leadership skills as Owner and CEO of Huebsch Services to transform the company into a locally and nationally recognized industry leader.

The elements of nature are fourfold; wind, water, earth, and fire. Without these, the world could not function in perfect balance. Jim's life fully embraced each of these elements. The earth took him to the woods where he delighted in creating trails for daily walks, and as a younger man, a log cabin which he built by hand, studying by candlelight in the night. Mountains further connected Jim to the earth where he would ski deep in the Canadian backcountry. Wind provided lift to his spirit and helicopter as he became a pilot later in life. Water, when combined with wind, gave Jim one of his greatest passions- sailing. And finally, through fire, we witnessed the fierce drive Jim had to challenge himself intellectually, physically, and professionally. Fire was also present in the love, compassion, generosity, and grace he had for his wife, daughter, friends, and family. This fire will continue to burn in all of us and stoke the wonderful memories we share with him.

There are no services planned as Jim had a celebration of life before death with family and loved ones. Donations can be sent to Mount Ashwabay: 32525 Ski Hill Road Bayfield, Wisconsin 54814.
