James Round

James L. Round “Roundy”, age 74 of Eau Claire passed away on Friday, August 4, 2023 at HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire with his family by his side.

Roundy was born on January 22, 1949, the son of James and Vera Round.  He grew up in the St. Paul, Minnesota area and graduated from Mounds View High School.

He enjoyed playing baseball and football during his high school and early adult years.  Roundy spent the majority of his adulthood hunting and fishing.  One of his favorite things was to camp with his wife Judy in the Birchwood area.

Roundy was a career trucker and dispatcher for over 40 years, hence his love of coffee.  He finished his work career driving for the Western Wisconsin Auto Auction, creating many friendships.

He is survived by his wife Judy of 25 years; stepsons: Tim (Malynda), Ben, and Joe (Kathy); grandchildren: Drew, Clayton, Gage, Gavin, Garrett and Isabelle.  He is further survived by many friends.

Preceding him in death are his parents and stepson Sam.

Trucker Roundy has made his final delivery.

A celebration of life will be held at Stokes, Prock & Mundt Funeral Chapel, 535 S. Hillcrest Parkway, Altoona on Friday, August 11, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.  There will be a service at 6:30 p.m. with Pastor Jeff Carlson officiating.  Please dress Roundy style – casual.

Private burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Eau Claire.
