James Mueller
June 10, 1937 — June 18, 2024
James I. Mueller was born June 10th, 1937, to Ewald and Edna (Svengaard) Mueller at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire, WI. Jim was baptized and confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church, attended
Eau Claire schools, graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School in 1955. After High School he
attended Eau Claire State College (UWEC). Jim passed away on June 18, 2024, at the young age
87, at Dove Health Care in Eau Claire, WI.
He was employed at Hehl-Grohn Co., Gould Engine Parts Div, Valley Builders Hardware, Kliest
& Fehr Concrete and Grace Lutheran Church. He retired from UWEC Facilities Management in
1996 after 19 years.
Some of Jim’s proudest accomplishments include but are not limited to: volunteering for the
UWEC Blugolds Events Staff Management for 15 years, co-chaired State of WI Locksmiths
Committee, Board of Director and Associate Secretary of the EC Men’s Bowling Association,
Coach and President of the EC Junior Bowling Association, Treasurer of the Chippewa Valley
Theater Guild, Treasurer for the University Lutheran Church and sang in their choir, and he was
on the Board of Directors for the Boys and Girls Club of the Greater Chippewa Valley, as well as
being a loving, caring son, brother, uncle, godfather, and proud member of the Eau Claire
community.
He is survived by his sister-in law Beth Mueller (nee Mason) of Eau Claire; nephews: Greg Mueller (Judy Soer) and Mark Mueller of Spooner, WI; nieces: Jean (Randy) Williquette of Green Bay, WI, Pam Johnson and Karen Mueller of Eau Claire; great nephew Brad (Ashley) Williquette; great nieces: Angie Mueller, Mindy (Ron)Burkhammer, Sara (Jon)Jones, Marie Sixel- Schultz (Dan Schultz), Kala (Scott) Roppe, and Kassie (Jeremy) Groeschl; great-great nephews and nieces: Sterling Jones, Mason, and Camden Williquette, Brody and Beau Roppe, Conner Groeschl, Oli (Olivia) Powell, and Stella Jones.
As well as many special families and friends that were incredibly near and dear to Jim’s heart.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents Ewald and Edna Mueller, his brother Al Mueller and
nephew Lewie Johnson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to the UWEC Foundation-Jim Mueller’s Fund, Boys
and Girls Club, Chippewa Valley Theatre Guild or University Lutheran Church of Eau Claire.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 20th, 2024 at Stocks, Prock, Mundt Funeral Chapel, 535 S. Hillcrest Parkway, Altoona WI. Visitation will be 1 hr prior to the service. A private graveside service will be held for immediate family only at a later time.
