James W. McFadden, age 85 of Fall Creek, passed away at his home on Thursday, March 2, 2023.
He was born on March 1, 1938 in Eau Claire to George and Dorothy McFadden.
At the age of 16, James he started work at Kleist Concrete and continued there for 30 years before working for PDM Bridge as a welder for an additional 25 years.
Jim loved working on small engines, inventing and fabricating new things (he even invented and patented a lightweight all plastic dog sled) and restoring and collecting Bolens Tractors.
One of his favorite things was to spend time at his cabin on McCaan Lake near New Auburn.
During his younger days, he enjoyed water skiing and was one of the original Ski Sprites.
He also was a member of the multi championship winning McFadden Trucking Dart Ball Team.
He is survived by his ex-wife Judy (Stanton) McFadden; sons: Jason (Wendy Connell) and Jack (Brittany); and grandchildren: David Walczak, Brody McFadden; step-grandchildren: Jayebin and Griffin Bourget; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death are his parents, brothers George Jr. and Bob, and sisters Marian Marsh and Maxine Zich.
A memorial service will be held at Stokes, Prock & Mundt Funeral Chapel, 535 S. Hillcrest Parkway, Altoona on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at 7:00 p.m.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until time of service.
