In Loving Memory of James D. Babbitt
James (Jim) D. Babbitt of Chetek, WI passed away on Monday evening, April 29th at Marshfield Medical Center in Rice Lake, WI.
Jim shared 30 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Barbara Babbitt. Together, they created countless cherished memories, with some of their fondest moments spent living on the shores of Bass Lake. Jim enjoyed fishing, and he and Barbara spent many happy hours casting lines and basking in the tranquility of lake life.
Jim spent many years working in the Barron County courtroom as an Assistant District Attorney and in 2008, elected Circuit Court Judge.
James was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Babbitt (1959-2022), his brother Patrick, his mother Elizabeth and his father Donald.
He is survived by his children, Janyl (Renner) Jentlie and Shane Renner, his grandchildren Adrianna and Elise Jentlie, and his sister Anne Babbitt.
A private ceremony will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Chetek Lions Club and/or Chetek Food Shelf.
