Jack A. Murphy, age 93 of Exeland, WI passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at the Ladysmith Care & Rehab Center in Ladysmith WI.
He was born on the family farm a short distance north of Four Corners Hartland, Vermont on December 11, 1930. Jack’s parents were Julian and Emily (Kibler) Murphy. Jack married Aldean Cherrier on June 13, 1954. They had three children, Jonathan, Jeffrey and Jana. Sadly, Jeffrey died in a car accident as a toddler. Jack and Aldean farmed in Hartland, VT and Canaan, NH. In 1971 they moved to Exeland, WI where they were dairy farmers until 1993.
Jack and Aldean were married for nearly 67 years. In their retirement years, they would grow large vegetable gardens sharing abundant surplus with neighbors. They especially enjoyed the companionship of their pets. Jack enjoyed watching baseball and football while rooting for the Red Sox and Packers. In his later years, Jack especially took comfort in singing.
Jack is survived by his son Jonathan (Tammy) Murphy; daughter Jana Murphy (Steve Anders); grandchildren: Brian (Heather) Murphy, Mary “Katie” (Wyatt) Bankston , Shane (Vicki) Anders, Shanna Anders and Shaune (Andrea) Anders; great-grandchildren: William, Annabelle, Blake, Hunter, Brooklyn, Brielle, Weston, Ava, Holden, Alayna, Ella.
Preceding him in death are his wife, Aldean, his parents, son Jeffrey and siblings, Kenneth, Priscilla, Orvilla.
Jack will be buried in the Hartland Village Cemetery in Hartland, VT at a later date.
