Gloria Lorraine Blaede
Gloria L. Blaede, age 94, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at Our House in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
Gloria was born on February 22, 1929 at the home farm in the Town of Washington, Fall Creek, Wisconsin to Walter and Katherine (Horlacher) Peuse. She graduated in 1946 from Fall Creek High. Gloria attended the teaching college in Eau Claire while working part-time at Eau Claire Book and Stationery. She was a grade school teacher for four years, teaching at St. John’s School for three years and one year at the public school. Gloria married Rev. Lyle E. Bloede on June 8, 1952. Gloria worked for Sears in Boston, Massachusetts from 1962 until 1964, and then worked at Beth Israel from 1964 until 1966. The family name was officially changed to Blaede in 1966.
Gloria is survived by her three sons, Lyle, Lee (Danielle) and Noel (Smitharami); her three grandchildren, Heather (Eric) Conti, Lester Blaede and James Blaede; and her two great-grandchildren, Eric and Isla Conti. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and her siblings, Ruth Fischer, Ralph Peuse, Cecelia Strasburg and Harvey Peuse.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, October 30, 2023 at St. James Trinity in Fall Creek, Wisconsin with Rev. Rick Biedermann officiating. Visitation will take place at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in rural Fall Creek.
