Glen Arthur Winters, 84, of Eau Claire, passed away on Friday February 15th of 2019, at home surrounded by his family.
Glen was born on September 14th of 1934 to the late Glen and Dorothy Winters. In November of 1961 he married Janet Eldridge. They were happily married for 48 years until her passing in 2010.
Glen spent the majority of his career in the United States Military serving in both the Army and Navy. Serving his country was a profound honor for Glen and he took it very seriously throughout his life. When he wasn’t working he enjoyed reading, hunting, and visiting the cabin in the north woods. Family was paramount to Glen, and he loved being a grandfather and great-grandfather.
He is survived by his sons Howard Winters, Jerry (Cris) Winters, and Jim (Tina) Winters; his daughter Kathy (Butch) Martin; brother Bob (Janet) Winters; 12 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife Janet; son Joe Winters; brother Kenny Winters; and sisters Pat Gribble and Mary Laird.
There will be a funeral service held on Friday February 22nd at 11:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Parish located at 1712 Highland Ave in Eau Claire. The service will be officiated by Father Francis. Entombment and Military Honors will follow the service at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Thursday February 21st from 5-7 PM at Stokes, Prock, and Mundt Funeral Chapel located at 535 S. Hillcrest Parkway in Altoona.
