Gertrude Oswald

Gertrude M. Oswald, age 95, lifelong resident of Park Falls, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 4,2023 in Park Falls. She was born on June 11,1927 to Otto and Mabel (nee Andrus) Schultz. On September 4,1957 she married Joseph A. Oswald. Together they raised five children.

Gertrude was a sweet and loving person and will be sadly missed by those she touched. She loved the Brewers, Betty Boop, and the color blue. She enjoyed bowling, playing Yahtzee, Bingo, and Wheel of Fortune, along with singing in the Church Choir. Gert and her cousin Barb were two peas in a pod and could always be seen doing things together.

She is survived by her children:  Jack (Luba) Oswald, Jean (Skip) Sommerfeldt, Joan (Donald) Bruch, Joseph (Brenda) Oswald, all of Park Falls and Sandra (Mark) Theisen of Three Lakes, 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 1 on the way, 2 great-great grandchildren. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joseph, her sister Dorothy, and her brothers Robert, Donald, and Otto.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am on April 22,2023 at First Congregational United Church of Christ, 279 North 1 ^st Ave., Park Falls with Pastor Emerson Coy officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the time of service. A private burial will take place at Nola Cemetery, Park Falls.
