George King

George D. King, born August 1, 1955 graduated from Eleva Strum High school in 1973 and attended UWEC in 1973 to 1974.

George loved his career as a mail carrier in Eau Claire. He retired after 17 years in 2020. One thing he loved to do after he retired was to ride his bike or walk around Eau Claire to see old customers and coworkers just to say hello.

A man of many talents. He was an inspiring author of poetry, and an amazingly talented artist. He loved The Twins, playing baseball and Nintendo with his sons. He grew up and learned construction, taught to him by his father George A. King. He used those skills to remodel every home we lived in.

He loved to make funny faces to make people laugh. Children were drawn to him like a magnet. At times, he worked three jobs simultaneously to provide for his family when his wife Carol attended nursing school.

He is survived by his wife Carol, sons Canaan, Keats, Colton and daughter Alyssah (Weaver), his four grandchildren, Angel, Chelsea, Carter and Zackary Weaver, his sister Cynthia Sheehy, (Arcadia) his brother Terrance (Canada) and Jerry.(California)

Proceeded in death by his daughter Angel, Kathleen in 1990 & his parents George A. King & Marlyn L. King.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 20, 2025 at Stokes, Prock & Mundt Funeral Chapel, 535 S. Hillcrest Parkway, Altoona. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.

Cremation Society of Wisconsin, Altoona is assisting the family.
