George J. Flint, age 87 of Lake Hallie, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, September 19, 2023.
He was born on May 2, 1936 in Chippewa Falls to the late Leselie and Marie (nee LeVasseur) Flint. George graduated from McDonell High School in 1955 and in that same year he went into the Air Force. He was honorably discharged in 1959. George was a very proud United States Air Force veteran. In 1960, he married the former Dorothy Rose at Faith Lutheran Church in Chippewa. George was a proud union member at Uniroyal. he retired in 1994 after 27 years.
George enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, his retirement, playing cards (especially schmier) and watching the Packers and the Brewers. When he was younger, he liked to fish.
George is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy; sons: Mark and Mike (Robin); daughter Debbie (Tony) Swoboda; 7 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; brother John (Terri) Buhrow; sister Pat (Bob) Tichey; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Preceding him in death are his parents; brothers Gene Flint and Jim (Charlene) Flint; mother and father-in-law Alfred (Emma) Rose; sister-in-law Adeline (Frank) Missfeldt and brother-in-law Otto Rose.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at Faith Lutheran Church, 733 Woodward Ave., Chippewa Falls, with Pastor Daniel Wonderly officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until time of service. Burial will take place at Prairie View Cemetery in Chippewa Falls.
