Gary Walker

Jim Falls- Gary W. Walker, Sr., age 82 of Jim Falls, WI passed away August 8, 2024 at his home in Jim Falls.

Gary was born October 14, 1941 in Eau Claire, WI the son of William and Hazel (Cramblit) Walker. He grew up in Eau Claire and attended schools there.

In October of 1960 he married Mary E. O’Mara (Walker) in Eau Claire.  They lived in Horicon, WI, retiring after 30 years from John Deere; they have resided in Jim Falls, WI since retiring.  Gary enjoyed a good game of cribbage, fishing, hunting, camping, and going to the racetrack. Many great memories were made at O’Neil Creek Campground with family and friends.

Gary is survived by his devoted wife, Mary; his sons Gary (Lorie)Walker, Jr., Lawrence Walker(Carolyn Young); daughters Kimberly (Thad) Steffen and Karen (Wesley) Averette; siblings Robert (Arletta) Walker, James (Joan) Walker, Richard (Vickie) Walker and Mildred Brettingen; grandchildren Amanda (Jacob) Mallmann, Tyler (Gabbie) Walker, Heather Walker, Samantha (Josh) Baskin, Meredith Hinkes, Jack (Jasmine) Hinkes, Alyssa Averette, Alexis Averette; Erik Steffen, Tyler Steffen, Abigail Steffen and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings Ronnie, Tom, Rosie, infant brother Lawrence; and granddaughter Sarah Rose.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staff of Mayo Clinic Hospice for their wonderful care, and support.

A celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later time for family to gather in a way he would have enjoyed.
