Gary B Sagunsky, age 82 of Combined Locks, WI, passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at Prairie Home House of Joy in Menasha, WI. He was born in Fond du Lac, WI on September 20, 1942 to late Max and Dorothy Sagunsky.
Gary worked for his dad at Max's Air Service at the Fond du Lac Airport, gassing up planes, mowing runways and anything else he could do. His work ethic was the best out there. Gary started working at the age of 8. The family moved to Appleton when his dad took over the Appleton Airport. He worked many jobs over the years, many times 2 or 3 at a time to provide for his family. In 1970, Gary started work with the Kimberly Clark Company, retiring in 1998.
He married Connie Sackett on September 25, 1998. That same year, they built a house on Echo Lake in Mercer, WI however, four years later they moved back to Combined Locks where he went to work for UW-Health/Mosaic Family Health until retiring in 2017.
Gary spent many mornings at McDonalds, reading the paper and visiting with friends. He enjoyed Friday Fish Fry's; being an avid Packers fan and watching the Brewer's. Gary enjoyed sitting on his patio watching the squirrels and birds in the backyard. He was very competitive in nature, loved his whoppers and fries and any bakery with a good cup of coffee.
His grandchildren were his pride and joy. He and Connie enjoyed a cruise to Alaska and many vacations to Florida, Maui and the Caribbean.
Gary is survived by his wife Connie; children: Cindy (Rob) Stiegal, Carrie (Bo) Steiner and Stephen (Jodi) Sackett; grandchildren: Andrew and Austin Hoyle, Vaughn Steiner and Brianna and Cameron Sackett; brother Jim (fiancée Pam Pojaski) von Sagun; other relatives and friends. He will be missed by all.
Preceding him in death are his parents, father and mother-in-law George and Edith Scheit, brother Robert Sagunsky and sister-in-law Dianne Riese.
