Ethel E. Krenz , age 91 beloved mother of 7, joined her Lord and Savior in heaven on July 26th. Known for her beautiful smile, she is missed by all whose lives she touched.
Born Ethel Esther Normand on September 8th, 1926 in the Town of Clear Creek, Eau Claire County to Walter and Lydia (Stelter) Normand, she was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Foster, Wisconsin.
She attended Hales Corner School in rural Augusta and graduated from Fall Creek High School May, 1944. After graduation from Vocational School, she worked in human resources at National Pressure Cooker Company (Presto).
She was married to the late Donald Krenz, Sr. From 1946-1984. This union brought 7 children into the world, which she lovingly reared on a dairy farm south of Fall Creek.
She was a homemaker and worked hard baking, gardening and canning. Most of all she loved tending to her family and spending time with them. Her early years were spent dancing at Fourniers Ballroom which produced a lifelong love of polka and accordion music.
Later she lived in Fall Creek and then Cameron. She spent her time in Bible study with her St. Peter’s church family. She also enjoyed word search puzzles, scrapbooking and latch hooking. She traveled often over the years visiting family from Hawaii to Germany and taking trips to different places in the United States.
She was preceded in death by her parents, older brother, Omar, and younger brother, Ray, numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, and great granddaughter, Natalie.
Survivors include three sons, Donald (Linda) Krenz, Jr, Douglas (Louise) Krenz, and Russell (Jenifer) Krenz all of Fall Creek. Four daughters, Judy (Brian) Soo of Jacksonville, NC, Connie (William) Hennig of Sleepy Hollow, IL, Lynette ( Richard) Stipp of Cameron, WI, and Renee (Jerry) Berger of St. Croix Falls, WI.; (16) grandchildren and (22) great-grandchildren.
Sisters-in-law, Beverly Zempel of Eau Claire, Janice Krenz of Osseo, Arley Gilbertson of New Hampshire, and “Like a Sister”, Helen Schiefelbein of Augusta.
When you hear a train whistle or see a cardinal, remember that she is forever in your heart.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Satuday, August 4, 2018 at St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Foster WI. Friends may call Friday, August 3, from 4 – 7 p.m. at Stokes, Prock & Mundt Funeral Chapel 535 Hillcrest Parkway Altoona. WI, and also 1 hour prior to the services at church. Interment will be at St. Peter’s Cemetry.
