Emil Evenson

Emil William Evenson, Jr., died at the age of 92 on August 17, 2021. He was born April 7, 1929 in Isle, MN, the son of Emil and Doris (Pierce) Evenson. He was one of ten children in the family. Emil married Judith Diane Brian on April 13, 1957.

Three sons were born to them: Mark Brian, Kristian Per, and Phillip Jon.

Emil graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 1954. In 1961, he graduated from Luther Theological Seminary in St Paul, MN and served parishes in South Western Minnesota, and Central and Northern Wisconsin.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Judy; and sons Mark and Kris.

Emil is survived by his son Phil (Cindy); daughter in laws Cathy and Christine; grandchildren Angie, Cole, Mercedes, Morgan (Pat), Rachel and Vanessa (Tim).

A Celebration of Emil’s life will be held at 12 pm on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Stokes, Prock & Mundt Funeral Chapel, 535 S. Hillcrest Pkwy, Altoona with Pastor Kathryn Reid Walker officiating. Visitation will take place from 10 am until the time of service, Saturday at the funeral chapel.
