Elgeane Gibson

September 26, 1934 — January 9, 2025

Elgeane J. Gibson, age 90 of Chippewa Falls, passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at VitaCare Living of Rice Lake. She was born on September 26, 1934 in Eau Claire to the late Adam and Lorraine Stuckert.

She married George Gibson on June 6, 1953 in Eau Claire. They bought a farm on County Rd E and lived there until they bought the Pine Grove Store on Hwy 29. They closed the store in 1986.

Elgeane dedicated much of her life to being a homemaker, pouring love and care into everything she did. Whether it was tending to the barn first thing in the morning or baking tasty cinnamon rolls for her family's afternoon snack, she made every moment count. Her hands were rarely idle, always busy knitting, sewing, or working on one of her many crafts. Sewing, however, was her greatest gift-she was a true master of her craft and took great joy in passing along her skills to anyone eager to learn. In the summers, Elgeane could be found in her expansive garden, growing everything from vegetables to flowers. By the end of the season, she was busy baking and canning the produce she had harvested.

Beyond her creative talents, Elgeane had a deep love for the outdoors. She found peace and joy in camping, fishing, and spending time in nature. There wasn't a bird whose name she didn't know, and she took great pleasure in observing them. She also found great comfort in a good book, especially savoring a heartfelt love story and the joy that reading brought her.

But of all the roles she cherished, none was more treasured than being with her grandchildren. It was the job she loved most of all, and her heart was happiest when surrounded by their laughter and love.

Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew her. Elgeane was a woman of unparalleled generosity, warmth, and wisdom. Her ability to nurture, teach, and love will never be forgotten.

Elgeane is survived by her children: Gary (Sheilla), Cynthia (Jeffrey) Thompson, Michael, Randall and Patrick; grandchildren: Jessica (Matthew) Haskins, Corey Gibson, Luke (Suzette) Thompson, Angela (Nick) Carlson, Mark Thompson, Damien (Kristi) Gibson, Shane Gibson, Elizabeth (Kyle) Oberding, Kevin Gibson and Kyle (Stephanie) Gibson; step-grand-children: Latitia Machado, Naomi , Melissa and Corey Gourdin, Cara Dahm and Jason (Jennifer) Schultz; great-grandchildren; step great-grandchildren; Great- great- grandchildren other relatives and many friends.
