Edward "Ed" Lawrence Brown, age 83, gracefully ascended to his eternal rest on October 19, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. Angels guided him to reunite with his Lord and Savior.
Born on January 15, 1940 in Marshfield, WI, Ed's journey through life was an inspiration to many. He graduated from Marshfield High School in 1958. Ed's love for his country led him to serve as a hospital corpsman in the United States Navy, dedicating nine years of his life, including the Vietnam war. While he was stationed in Taiwan, his fiancé could not bare being apart from him. Without hesitation, she flew halfway across the world to be with him. On September 16, 1961, Ed married the love of his life, Marlene, a union that would endure 62 years.
Upon completing his service in the Navy, Ed spent his life devoted to his family. He earned his MBA at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. In 2006, he retired from UW-EC as Operations Manager. Once retired, Ed and Marlene enjoyed traveling the country in their RV, biking and being part of Builders for Christ. His love for biking led him to ride RAGBRAI 485 miles across Iowa in 6 days.
Ed is survived by his loving wife, Marlene, and their children: Andrea (Joe), Mark (April), Mike (Stacey), Elizabeth (Jeff), and Eric (Tina). He also leaves behind eleven cherished grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. His legacy lives on through his family and the countless lives he touched.
Ed rejoins his parents, Flossie and Howard, in-laws, Larry and Verna, three sisters, Joyce, Gwen and Darlene and one beloved granddaughter Ariana, who welcomed him into heaven.
