Duttee G. Becker, 89 of Eau Claire, WI passed away on May 25th at Dove Healthcare West.
He was born on January 17th, 1928 in Mondovi, the son of George and Susan (Nichols) Becker.
As a young man, he earned his pilot’s license and flew for Smith’s Airport in Eau Claire. He served with the 50th Army Military Police Battalion in the Philippines from 1946-1947 as a Private 1st Class. In 1948 he moved to Eau Claire and was employed at Pope & Talbot, retiring in 1991 with 42 years of service.
Duttee was a life member of the American Legion Post 550 and VFW Post 305. He enjoyed snowmobiling and was a member of The Sherwood Foresters in Fall Creek. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening.
He was preceeded in death by his wife, Lydia, in 2012; brother, Donald Becker; sisters, Goldia Talford, Anna Gullikson, and Evelyn Rud.
He is survived by his step-children, Mary Marquardt of Altoona, Kathryn Marquardt of Milwaukee, and Allen Marquardt of Fargo, ND; step-grandchildren, Jeff Marquardt, Kent Marquardt, Tyra Montoya, and Maximillian Smith; six step-great-grandchildren; one step-great-great-grandson; sister-in-law Betty Becker of Great Falls, Montana; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family would also like to thank the staff at Dove Healthcare West for their compassionate care.
Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at Stokes, Prock, and Mundt Funeral Chapel at 11:00 A.M. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Mondovi at Riverside Cemetery.
