Doris Elaine Lemler
Doris E Lemler just passed away this beautiful Saturday morning, passing away at the age of
95 years old.
Her greatest passion was talking to people. Waitress work was the job she loved and was so good at it. As one lady told me she had a great gift of gab, which makes me laugh.
Doris Elaine Mathews Lemler was born February 16,1928 to Melvin and Edna Mathews in Rice Lake. Doris graduated from Rice Lake high school and married the love of her life Russell Lemler and celebrated 73 years of marriage.
Russ and Doris lived in Rice Lake before moving to Eau Claire where Doris worked as a waitress for the Holiday Inn for many years before moving back to Rice Lake to be by their daughter Barbara.
Even though Russell passed away at the young age of 101, Doris continued to live independently at their apartment until September when Doris’s health started to decline.
Doris is survived by a daughter Barbara (Russell) Smith, a son Todd Lemler of Hudson, grandchildren Amy (Dan) Calloway, Greg (Klaire Schultz) Smith and Haylee Lemler of Hudson, 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and friends. Doris was preceded in death by her husband Russell, a son Thomas, 2 brothers and her parents.
There will be a private burial at Orchard Beach cemetery. Cards of sympathy for Todd or Barbara may be sent c/o Barbara Smith 2915 Thomas Ave., Rice Lake WI,
54868.
Doris’s smile and laughter will always be remembered.
We would like to thank the Cambridge Assisted Living and St Croix Hospice staff for the excellent, compassionate care they gave our mom. We are eternally grateful.
