Dennis W. Seidling, age 76 passed away Sunday, January 14, 2024 at home on his farm.
Dennis was born April 4, 1947, to Norbert and Irene (Meyer) Seidling in Chippewa Falls, WI. He attended Augusta Schools. Dennis was the oldest of four children. He married Mary K. Zimmerman, December 20, 1969 and were blessed with six children.
Dennis loved many fishing trips to South Dakota and Canada. Every hunting season was an adventure and was usually prosperous. He enjoyed being with his grandchildren fishing and hunting, especially setting them up in the windmill down on the other farm. In the later years, Dennis went to several auctions in South Dakota and was known for supplying many with round balers in the area. You could find Dennis and Mary under the tree in the backyard in the evenings playing with the cats and visiting with family and neighbors that would stop in.
Dennis bought the farm in rural Fall Creek when he was 17 years old where he and Mary dairy farmed until 1972 and then cash cropped and had beef cattle up until his passing. He also drove semi over the road and would tell stories of the different routes he would take and sites he saw. Dennis also was known for taking stumps out for people around the area. In his spare time, Dennis traveled the neighborhood to see what was going on and offered many suggestions of how things should go or be done.
Surviving Dennis is his wife of 54 years, Mary. His children Michelle (Steve) Ganzer, Kristine (Ron) Erdman, Colleen (Brian) McCann, Jolene (Mick) Sarauer and Jon (Wendi) Seidling. Grandchildren Karlie (Evan) Anderson, Melissa (Andy) Schulz, Kayla (Vince) Ceraso, Ethan McCann, Ezra and Jaidynn Sarauer, Sawyer and Sadie Seidling. Great Grandchildren Parker and Maddie Anderson, Harper, RaeLynn, and Emily Schulz, Kinsley and Aubrey Ceraso and baby Ceraso is due soon. Sister Mary Johnson, Brothers Bernard Seidling and Larry Seidling. Also, nieces, nephews, friends, and close neighbors.
Dennis is proceeded in death by his parents Norbert and Irene (Meyer) Seidling, Son Michael Seidling and In-laws Ralph and Dolores Zimmerman.
Funeral services will be held at Saving Grace Lutheran Church, 3735 Jeffers Rd, Eau Claire, on Friday, January 19, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor David Irgens officiating. Visitation will be held at Stokes, Prock & Mundt Funeral Chapel, 535 S. Hillcrest Parkway, Altoona on Thursday, January 18 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again at the church from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. A luncheon will follow the service. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery, Town of Washington. Pallbearers will be Ezra Sarauer, Melissa Schulz, Karlie Anderson, Kayla Ceraso, Ethan McCann, Sawyer Seidling, Jaidynn Sarauer and Sadie Seidling.
