Craig Heabler

Craig Lynn Heabler, 84, of Eau Claire died on Sunday, August 13, 2023.



He was born September 29, 1938 in Freeport, IL to Aida Ann Eliza Bubb and Charles Karl Heabler. Craig was raised in Rockford, IL attending all schooling there and graduating from East High School in June 1956. He had a business and music major in high school.



Craig was in the Naval Service for 4 years from 1957-1961. He was honorably discharged at E5 rating = yeoman 2 nd class serving on an admiral staff aboard the USS Yorktown.



After the Navy he attended Midwestern Broadcasting School from 1961-1962. He then worked at the radio station in Beloit, Sheboygan and Eau Claire, WI. Later on to Madison, Sun Prairie and finally Milwaukee where he retired in 2007.



While in Eau Claire he attended Lake Street UMC and met his future wife Suzanne in the Chance Choir in 1965. They were married at Lake Street Church on June 12, 1971. The major focus of both their lives has always been their Church relationships and the precious friends found there.



Throughout their lives, music has been a major focal point, joy and source of meeting many talented people, processional and local.



Other interests were reading, enjoying out door parks, hiking, museums, and old movies.



Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Lake Street United Methodist Church, 337 Lake St, Eau Claire, WI. Visitation will be held from 12 p.m. noon until the time of service.



In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Lake Street United Methodist Church.
