Constance J. Johnson, age 88 of Stanley, passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2022 at HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.
Connie grew up and attended school in Minneapolis, MN. She later lived in Chippewa Falls, WI, Lakeland, FL. and after the death of her husband, she returned to WI to be closer to her children.
She was an avid sports fan, enjoying football, baseball, wrestling and golf, (especially when Tiger was playing!). Throughout her life, she participated and excelled in softball, bowling, and golf.
Connie is survived by her daughters: Rochelle Furo of Stanley, her children, Michelle (Buddy) Viertel of Plainfield, IL, Jeri Sloviak (John Stanley) of Stanley, and Julian (Lisa) Sloviak of Townsville, South Carolina; daughter Carrie (Doug) Grunewald of Boyd, her children, Lisa (Rob) Knudtson and Lori (Eric) Smith of Augusta, WI; and daughter Kristine (Troy) Faulkner of Eleva, her children, TJ (Brianna) Faulkner of Eau Claire and Dylan (Anna) Faulkner of Durand; her brother, Dale Olson of Minneapolis; great grand-children, nieces, nephews, lots of friends and her constant canine companion, Maddie.
Preceding her in death were her husband Gilbert "Babe" Johnson, parents, Clarence and Olga Olson; sister Joan Stanley; and brothers: Vernon, Lloyd, Curtis and Norman.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. She will be buried, alongside her husband at The Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery near Spooner.
