, 2024 at the Willow Ridge Nursing home with the comfort of her daughter, Nicole, after months of battling liver and kidney failure.

, 1970 to Orville and Norma Solum in Baldwin, WI. She was Baptized at Gethsemane Lutheran in Baldwin, WI on March 22

, 1970. Cheryl was confirmed in 1985 at Gethsemane Lutheran. She grew up in Baldwin and moved to Amery, WI where she finished high school.
Cheryl graduated from Amery High School in the year of 1988. She was liked by many in school. She enjoyed being in band and choir.
Her senior year, Cheryl started her first job at Hardee’s in Amery, WI, kickstarting a customer service career. Most of her working career was with Holiday gas station, as an assistant manager. She also worked for Jonzy’s Market, J&E Coatings, Holiday franchise, Family dollar, and most recently at Austad’s Super Valu Store.

, 1990, Cheryl married Michael Dixon in Sturgis, SD. Cheryl and Michael had 2 children, Nicole A. Dixon ,1989, and Michael A. Dixon Jr., 1991. They separated shortly after but stayed married. She loved being a mother and supporting her children with school activities. She became a widow when Michael Dixon Sr. passed away January 18

, 2005. Cheryl never remarried.
In 2006, Cheryl became a grandmother to her first grandson. She was blessed with a second grandson in 2008. Years later, her first granddaughter was born in 2019. She absolutely adored her grandkids, making it her life desire to be an amazing Grandma. Cheryl would cheer on her grandsons at their sporting events and school concerts. Most recently, she spent time with her granddaughter having sleepovers where they would have puppet shows, sing, color and make forts. Cheryl was a Green Bay Packer fan and Dale Earnhardt fan. She listened to country, rock and even some pop music. Her favorite band was Jackyl. Cheryl enjoyed the outdoors, camping, music, concerts and motorcycle rides. Cheryl had that spontaneous energy everyone loved her for.
Cheryl was predeceased by her father, Orville Solum; and her brother, Allen Solum; and her husband, Michael Dixon. She is survived by her mother, Norma Solum; her sisters, Connie Peterson (John), Bonnie Burns (Brian), and Nancy Erickson (Todd); Her children, Nicole Dixon and Michael Dixon; her grandchildren, Gavin, Caleb and Karen; and many nephews, nieces and cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Amery Community Center on August 17
th
, 2024, from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm. Flowers can be sent to the Community Center from a local florist, Stems From the Heart.
