Cheryl Joy Connolly, aged 72, of Onalaska, WI, passed away at the University of Wisconsin Burn Center on April 25, 2021.
Cheryl was born in Mercedes, Texas, and had fond memories of her childhood farm in Harlingen, TX, and her teen years in Austin, TX. She married and moved with her family to Lacrosse, WI, where she became a seamstress working at the Garment Factory and ORC Industries. She graduated from WWTC’s welding program with honors, although she never worked in that field.
Cheryl enjoyed gardening and grew both vegetables and flowers; tomatoes, violas, and marigolds being her favorite to grow. She was a master at Rummy 500, teaching her children and grandchildren how to play. She enjoyed long talks with her granddaughter, Mynx, with whom she had a very special and close relationship. In her final years, she enjoyed watching Judge Judy and Dr. Phil and visiting with her neighbors.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Yvonne Seibert and David Seibert, whom she loved dearly.
Cheryl is survived by her children, Leslie Parker-Slauenwhite of St. Petersburg, FL, John Scott Parker (Tricia) of Hanover, IN, Robin Kohlwey-Chiarizia of Panama City Beach, FL, and Russell Loomis (Soledad Gabriella) of Pinellas Park, FL, 19 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren, as well as her siblings, Barbara McClure, Gene Seibert, and Janet Schaeffer.
Cheryl’s final wishes were that in place of a funeral service that instead all her children gather together and bring her back home to rest in the bluebonnet fields of Texas.
Cremation Society of Wisconsin, Altoona is assisting the family.
