Carolyn Erickson

Carolyn J. Erickson (Luoma), 55, of Ironwood, MI, passed away Thursday, November 25, 2021, in Ironwood with her family at her side.

Carolyn was born June 1st, 1961, in Ashland, to Donald and Nancy (Wennersten) Luoma. She graduated from Luther L. Wright High School with the class of 1984. Carolyn worked at Copps and later attended Gogebic Community College where she received her Associate's degree in 2010 for Cosmetology. She then worked at Smart Style where she loved working with each of her clients.

Carolyn loved her family, anything to do with the outdoors, her pets, and making jewelry. She truly enjoyed going for walks and enjoying the fresh air. Every gift from her usually came with a piece of jewelry that she made herself using her mom and sister’s beads that she inherited.

She is survived by her husband, Dale Erickson, of Ironwood MI; two daughters, Samantha Ratkowski of Saxon, WI, and Rebecca (Scott) Subert of Oma WI; brother Gary Luoma of Ironwood; and one step daughter, Emily Erickson, of Ironwood MI;

She was preceded in death by her parents: Donald on July 24, 2014 and Nancy on Nov. 9, 2007; two brothers: Glen, on Jan. 12, 1991 and Greg on August 19, 2019; a sister, Nanette Dahlin, on March 26, 2011; and a daughter, Alyssa Ratkowski on Aug. 25, 1993.

A celebration of life will be held at the Saxon Community Center on Saturday, January 8th 2022 from 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
