Blanche (Forster) Caton
Blanche Veronica Caton, age 99, passed on to her eternal reward on December 13, 2024, at Prairie Pointe Memory Care in Altoona, WI. Blanche was born on a farm, January 2, 1925, in Lima Township, Pepin County, WI, to William and Alvina (Bauer) Forster. Her midwife grandmother, Frances Forster, assisted in the birth. Blanche was in a hurry to get here and the country doctor didn't arrive until after her birth. She was the first born of eight siblings to follow.
Blanche graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1943 which was next to Holy Rosary Catholic Church six miles east of Durand.
In 1947, Blanche moved to Eau Claire where she met the love of her life, Robert John Caton. They were married at Holy Rosary on June 22,1950 and later adopted Donald Russel and his sister Cecile Marie. Blanche and Bob were married 54 years prior to his death July 29, 2004.
Blanche had a green thumb with flowers, enjoyed fishing, bowled for over 60 years, and was employed for many years as a secretary and bookkeeper in law offices. In her later years she enjoyed playing cards and volunteering in many places to include preparing funeral lunches at her church.
Blanche was predeceased by her parents, husband Bob, son Don, a brother and sister in infancy, brother William Daniel Forster, sister Mary Regina Forster, brother Maurice Forster, and son-in-law Dennis Kruger. She is survived by her daughter, Cecile Kruger, and her beloved triplet granddaughters, Leatrice, Marie, and Theresa Kruger all of Tavares, FL. Also, survived by brother Roger (Beverly) Forster of Centennial, CO, sister Clarissa Ramsey of Camp Hill, PA, and brother David (Mary Jean) Forster of Elk River, MN and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family thanks the staff of Prairie Pointe for the excellent care and love provided over the past two years of her life while residing there.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 20, 2024, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church 1712 Highland Ave., Eau Claire with Fr. Francis Thadathil presiding. To view the mass online, please go to https://www.youtube.com/@immaculateconceptionec/streams. Visitation will be one hour prior to Mass with lunch to follow. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Eau Claire.
