Betty Weisheipl

Betty L. Weisheipl, 99, received her wings and floated away on August 22, 2023.

Betty was born February 16, 1924 to Lester and Sylvia Fable in Cornell, WI.  After graduating from Cornell High School at the age of 17, she attended one year at the University in Eau Claire until she was old enough to get into Methodist-Kahler School of Nursing in Rochester, MN.   She received her Bachelor of Nursing Degree in 1945.  Betty worked as a Registered Nurse for multiple doctors until she joined Dr. Karl Walter’s practice where she worked for over 28 years.

Betty married William (Bill) Weisheipl on December 3, 1949.  They raised their five children in Altoona, WI.  Betty was active well into her 90’s with bowling and golf (three hole in ones).  She enjoyed playing cards and bingo, watching Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, the Packers and Brewers and was an avid reader and knitter, making over 150 Christmas stockings for family and friends.  She enjoyed time at her cabin on McCann Lake, taking road trips and cruises.

Betty is survived by her children Dave (Colleen) Weisheipl, Steve (Arlene) Weisheipl, Sue (David) Blakeley, Jeff (Paula) Weisheipl and Jill (Tim) Meyer, 13 Grandchildren, 22 Great-Grandchildren, Brother-In-Law, Joe Fauster, Sisters-in-Law, Margaret (Ron) Walters, Joanne Weisheipl, Rita Weisheipl and many nieces and nephews.   She was preceded in death by her husband Bill (February 8, 2001), her parents, Grandson Phillip Weisheipl, Granddaughter Sara Weisheipl, sisters Loretta Dumholt and Mary Ellen Fauster.

A celebration of life gathering will be held at Stokes, Prock & Mundt Funeral Chapel, 535 S. Hillcrest Parkway, Altoona from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 27, 2023.
