Betty Ruth Walker died on January 7, 2025, at the age of 93. She died peacefully at her home at The Classic at Hillcrest Greens in Altoona, Wisconsin, her home for over 8 years.
Betty Ruth Moore was born on June 24, 1931, in Madison, Wisconsin and moved to Eau Claire when she was in the 4th grade. Betty met and married the love of her life, Ricardo "Ric" Walker, and they shared 60 adventurous years together. The couple lived in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, where they raised their 5 children. Betty was known for her strong will, unwavering determination, and love and support for her family and friends.
Betty received her master's degree from UW-Eau Claire and worked as a Speech Therapist for the Eau Claire Area School District for 23 years. After retiring, she volunteered her time, enjoyed traveling, reading books, listening to music, and relaxing with a nice glass of wine.
Preceded in death: Robert L. Moore (father), Ellen M. (Tenney) Moore (mother), Ricardo L. Walker (husband), Nancy A. Walker (daughter), Ellen (Moore) Imbody (sister).
Survived by: sons Robert Walker (Robin), Thomas Walker (Dawn); daughters Mary Walker, Amy Hayden (Michael), 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
The family wants to thank the staff at The Classic at Hillcrest Greens, Seqouia Integrated Medical Services, and support of the St. Croix Hospice for the gentle care she received.
