Betty Johnson

Betty J. (Helland) Johnson, age 90 peacefully passed away at the home her daughter and son-in-law on Wednesday, December 15, 2021. Betty, one of 15 children was born to the late Albert and Phoebe Helland.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. Betty married Leonard Johnson on January 15, 1949. Together, they raised three children: Daniel (Mary) of Billings, MT, Vicki (Denny) Olson of Altoona, WI and Steven (Debbie) of Colfax, WI.

During her lifetime, Betty was involved in many volunteer activities at both HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital and Mount Washington Nursing Home helping care for elderly patients and residents. At HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital, she was in charge of the “Wig Shop” helping oncology patients pick out and fit wigs while they were in chemo or radiation treatment.

Betty is survived by her children, grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, along with one great-great grandchild. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death are her husband Leonard in 2016.

Per her wishes, there will be no public services.
