Beatrice Wilhelm

December 12, 1921 — June 8, 2017

Beatrice Elaine Wilhelm, 95 of Altoona, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, June 8, 2017. She was at Care Partners/ Country Terrace in Altoona under the care of Mayo Hospice.

She was born on December 12, 1921 in Eau Claire to Oliver and Minnie (Hageness) Cole. She was baptized and confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church in Eau Claire. Beatrice married Lawrence Wilhelm October 15, 1941 at Grace Lutheran Church in Eau Claire.

After their marriage they moved to the farm in Fall Creek where she lived until Lawrence died in 1962. She was employed as a bus driver for the Fall Creek school district for 26 years. She also worked at the Seig Supper Club and Elsie’s Café in Fall Creek.

She joined Eau Claire Moose Lodge in 1985 and is a member of 557 and the Defending Circle. Beatrice enjoyed playing cards and dancing at the Moose Lodge.

She is survived by two daughters: Patricia (Patrick) Finnessy and Nancy (Henry) Schilling; her grandchildren: William (Jennifer) Lee, Kristine (David) Jung, Pamela (Brandon )Kirkwood, five great grandsons: the love of her life, Tyler (Skyler) Lee, Riley and Evan Kirkwood, and Daniel and Michael Jung, two great granddaughters, Emily Jung and Annabelle Kirkwood, also great granddaughter, Ashley Weiland. Beatrice will be missed by her family and many friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence, parents, Oliver and Minnie Cole, sisters: Lorraine Miland and Doris Patrow and brother, Elverne Cole.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at St. James Trinity Lutheran Church, 305 S. State St. Fall Creek, at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Tom Bryan officiating. Burial will be held at Trinity Cemetery, Fall Creek with Moose Lodge 557 giving Moose rights. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
