Beatrice “Bea” Ryder, age 98 of Eau Claire, passed away on Friday, February 2, 2024 in Eau Claire. She was born in Carlton, MN on January 10, 1926 to the late Robert and Johanna Ziech.
She married Donald Link Sr. in 1946. They divorced after 25 years of marriage. Bea was a very meticulous person, especially when it came to her cooking, cleaning and raising her children.
Bea married Hemon “Gene” Ryder; they were married for 35 years. Bea and Gene lived in CA for a short time and they worked as property managers. They moved back to Eau Claire and she worked at a dress shop in the mall and later at a nursing home.
She enjoyed collecting coins and matchbooks.
Bea is survived by her children: Don (Jill) Link Jr. and Darla (Aldo “Nick”) Manzara; grandchildren: Britteny (Ryan) Schwoerer, Samuel (Katie) Link, Stepanie Wilhelmi, Brett Wilhelmi and Stephen Wilhelmi (significant other Dawn); 10 great-grandchildren; step-daughter Denise (Dan) Black and their children. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death are her parents, husband Gene, son Thomas L. Link, daughter Judy B. Wilhelmi and 7 siblings.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Stokes, Prock & Mundt Funeral Chapel, 535 S. Hillcrest Parkway, Altoona. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior. Private inurnment will be at the Northern Wisconsin Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery.
