Avenue Chippewa Falls, died suddenly surrounded by family at Sacred Heart Hospital on January 16, 2024.
She was born in Chilton, WI on July 18,1925 to Edward and Marie Thiessen and married James M. O’Connor on September 18, 1943. Arvella worked for St. Joseph’s Hospital for 25 years.
Arvella is survived by two sons: Dennis O’Connor of Vista California and Daniel O’Connor of Eau Claire; two daughters: Colleen (Dean DeTienne) O’Connor of Chippewa Falls and Maureen (Doug) Kraft of Eau Claire; two grandchildren: Stephanie (Ryan) Vobornik of Eau Claire and Steven Swoboda of St. Paul, MN; four great grandchildren: Logan Vobornik of Eau Claire, Gavin Vobornik of Eau Claire, Simon Swoboda of St. Paul, MN and Oliver Swoboda of St. Paul, MN; 7 step-grandchildren and 11 step-great-grandchildren and 4 step-great-great-grandchildren.
Arvella was preceded in death by her husband James of 68 years, her parents, a son James E. O’Connor of Cheyenne Wells, CO, 3 brothers, Walter (Millie) Thiessen, Howard (Hattie) Thiessen, Perry (Bert) Thiessen and 2 sisters, Frances DePew and Myra (Henry) Bartels.
A private family service is being planned.
