Arlene (Arries) McCarty, age 92, of Eau Claire, Wisconsin passed away in her own home on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 while under Hospice Care.
She was born in Augusta, Wisconsin on September 17, 1929 to parents Alva Arries and Florence Rahle.
Arlene was a woman of many talents, from taking care of her home and own family, to caring for multiple foster children and helping with many family members children. Arlene also was a great caregiver for her aging parents. She also ran the nursery for years in her church. She worked many years for Edwins Fashions in retail sales. Arlene also spent many years working for her son’s transportation business to help make sure he had proper help and to keep active. She always had an open-door type of home where anyone who showed up in need of a bed, a meal or a friendly face was welcomed with a smile. She was a grandmother who was like a second mother and both of her grandchildren held her close in their hearts. They spent many accumulated years in her home from daytime visits, to weeks at a time when Kim and Rita were on business trips for Kim’s transportation businesses.
She was a faithful member of Saving Grace Lutheran Church of Eau Claire.
She is survived by her son Kim; granddaughters Katrina (Andloyjay) Watkins and Heidi (Shane) Carey; great-granddaughters YaLovena Watkins and Olivia Carey; great grandson Andloviay Watkins Junior; and brother in law Byron Grassnickle (Elizabeth husband).
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert; parents; brother Durwood and wife Joanne Arries and Warren Arries; sisters Gereta and husband Allen Degner, and Elizabeth Grassnickle; daughter in law Rita (By three days); and sister in law Joanne.
The McCarty Family would like to thank Heartland Hospice, Gereta Sotelo, Wendy Luedke, Kim Duccommon, Randy Mundt and all staff at Stokes, Prock and Mundt Funeral Chapel, Saving Grace Lutheran Church and choir, the many kitchen volunteers, our great neighbors, and many others that helped us through very trying times.
Services will be held at Saving Grace Lutheran Church 2124 Eastridge Center Eau Claire WI 54701 at 10:00 am on Monday, June 27, 2022. Viewing at 9.00 am until the time of service, lunch to follow and internment after at Rest Haven Cemetery.
