Ardis Welke

Ardis Marlene Welke, 82 of Fall Creek, died on August 10, 2017 at her home.

She was born on September 11, 1934 in Van Hook, North Dakota to Nordal and Marie (Olson) Lokken. Ardis graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School. She married Clarence Welke at Pine Hurst Church in Eau Claire on August 25, 1956. In 1967 they bought the family farm; together they farmed until they sold the cows and partially retired in 1989. Ardis enjoyed playing cards, cooking, canning and baking. Ardis was a spunky woman who always said what she thought and lived life to the fullest.

Ardis is survived by her two sons: Derrick Welke and Jeff (Bridget) Welke, both of Fall Creek; five grandchildren: Gabe, Mitchell, Samantha, Brittany (Trevor), and Sara; two sisters: Clarice Campbell and Grace Lokken; nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She is preceded in death by her husband Clarence, parents, and siblings: Arnie Lokken, Norma Heller, Ilene Wright, and Roy Lokken.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Fall Creek at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Carlton Kangas officiating. Burial will be held at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at Stokes, Prock, and Mundt Funeral Chapel, Altoona from 4:30 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. and again on Thursday one hour before the service at Church.
