Archie L. Shoemaker, 76 of Osseo passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2024 at home with family by his side.
Archie was born in Black River Falls to Archie and Beula (Sullivan) Shoemaker on March 26, 1948. He graduated from Alma Center High School. From there he was drafted into the Army. Which he was not a fan of. However, he served his time and was honorably discharged. After getting out of the Army, he went to vocational school in La Crosse. While he was in school, he met Sandra Doud. After graduating with a certificate in sales, the two began their life together.
They were married in Dakota, Minnesota. They lived in La Crosse and Eau Claire before finding their dream home just outside of Osseo. Here, they raised their four children and enjoyed nearly fifty years together.
Archie was a good friend, uncle and brother. He was a great dad and an even better grandpa.
He is survived by his children; Archie (Cassie), Lee (Ellen), Lessie (Trever) and Samuel; grandkids: Gracie Jane, Archie John and Amber; great grandson Gavin; brother Ronnie (Joyce); and sister Gail. He is also survived by many nephews and nieces and close friends Mary and her son Jett.
Preceding him in death is his wife of 49 years Sandy. his parents, brothers: Bruce and Danny; sister; Eileen Joy; daughter in law Donna Shoemaker; sister-in-law; Mary Shoemaker and brother-in-law Gary Potter.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 22 at the VFW Post 8494 Hall, 111 E. Main St., Alma Center from 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Full military honors will be provided by VFW Post 8494 at 1:00 p.m. Burial for Archie and Sandy will be held at a later date.
