Anthony (Tony) Halvor Decker, aged 70, died peacefully February 8
,
2024 at his Independent Outlook home.
He was born June 7, 1953 in Eau Claire Wisconsin to the late Eugene and Gladys (Palmer) Decker. Tony lived at home until he was seven years old and then resided at Northern Center, but he enjoyed his last 20 years at Independent Outlook in Chippewa Falls where he was cared for by a wonderful staff who treated him with love and dignity. The loving care Tony received there will always be remembered and appreciated by his family. He especially enjoyed music, food, and taking rides in cars or pontoons. Many of his family members were greatly influenced by Tony to pursue careers teaching and working with people with special needs.
He is survived by siblings Gene (Sue) Decker and Ray (Lori) Decker from Chippewa Falls and Robert (Jennifer) Decker, Carolyn (Larry) Bauer, and Sue (Dave) Frederick from Eau Claire. Survivors also include many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held this summer at a time and place to be announced by the family.
Memorial donations can be gifted to the Eau Claire Humane Association.
