Andon Schell

Andon (Andy) David Schell passed away Nov 11, 2021 at his home in Maiden Rock, WI with his family by his side after a long battle with Leukemia. Andy was born Feb. 9, 1940 to Herman & Edna (Stein) Schell and was raised in Chicago, IL. He proudly served his country in the US Navy from 1958 to 1962.
Andy married the Love of his life Rita Rasmussen on Sept. 14, 1963.
He worked a long career as a plumber with the Plumbers Union Local 130 U.A. in Chicago, IL, retiring in 1995.
In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking, movies & RV camping.
In 2010 Andy & Rita bought a winter get away in Casa Grande, AZ where they wintered for the next 10 years, making many dear friends.
Andy is survived by his wife Rita, daughter Anna (Ned) Waltz of Plum City; Son David (Ann) Schell of Ellsworth; four grandchildren; Jessica (Troy) Bergman, Steven Waltz, Emma (Rigo Chino Mead) Schell, Evan (Chelsea Georges) Schell; five great-grandchildren; Claire, Axel and Odin Bergman; Violet and Hazel Mead; and sister Trudy (Paul) Schafer, sister-in-law Lois Schell and many nieces & nephews.
Andy is preceded in death by his parents; sisters Marcia and Jeannie; and brother Herman Jr.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Mayo Clinic of Rochester, especially Dr. Timothy Call; Mayo Health Systems of Red Wing; and St. Croix Hospice for their loving care.
