Alissa Boote
April 9, 2002 — October 8, 2024
Alissa Renee Boote, age 22, lost her battle with mental illness on October 8th, 2024.
Alissa grew up in Elk Mound, Wisconsin, with close friends and family close by. She proudly graduated from Elk Mound High School in 2020 with the much-appreciated support of a couple beloved teachers.
Alissa crammed a lot of experiences into her short life and excelled at many things; she was often up for an adventure, a good time, or a new challenge that she felt would better her. She had recently been accepted to CVTC for their welding program and was excited to pursue that as a career path. She was also considering serving in the Navy, like her aunt Theresa. She had big dreams, always intending to further her education (and herself) in some way. Alissa had a way with people, sharing her charm and humor everywhere she would go. She forged deep connections with those who knew her, especially her best friend, Isaiah, and her niece and nephews. She was sharing in the excitement of a new baby niece on the way and would often step up to help the family with numerous get-togethers and baby showers through the years. Alissa had an enduring love for everyone she knew and could often relate to others who were in pain; her empathy and passion fed her spirit but also made it so her light burned bright and was all-too quick to go out.
Alissa will be joining her father, Joshua Boote, her grandmother, Beth Garbisch, her grandfather Francis “Frank” LaRock, Scott Garbisch, her good friends, Janna Cobb, Trey Mars, Isaac Repetto, Sharon Ingerson, Shane Dircks and her beloved pit bull, Bella, on the other side.
She is survived by her mother, Bianca LaRock, her sisters, Brianna and Ella Boote (Clayton Schellin and Thomas Anderson, former brothers-in-law), her Grammy, Carol Petersen, aunts, Hayley Petersen (Steven Gregory), Theresa Garbisch (Weston Wade), and Nikki Garbisch (Kyle Gore), Uncles, Jeremy Boote, Zachary Garbisch, her best friend, Isaiah Curtis-Saltness, her niece, Nevaeh Schellin, nephews, Nick Schellin, Adrian Fogeltanz, and Colten Anderson-Boote, and another niece, Aria Boote, is on the way. She also has several cousins and extended relatives who will miss her dearly.
In honor of her own personal battles as well as those she cared about, the family is hosting a candlelight vigil at the Caryville boat landing on Saturday, October 12th, at 7 pm. Alissa was passionate about mental health concerns and proudly displayed the tattoo "better not bitter." She wanted us to know that everything will be okay, she loves us, and to work through the pain. Don't be Silent.
