Alan Keith Smith, age 80, of Colfax, WI passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, March 5, 2024.
The former Alan Keith Smith was born March 22, 1943 in Menomonie, WI to Willis and Gladys (Hintzman) Smith.
On July 29, 1961 Alan married the love of his life Carol A. Johnson in Menomonie. They have resided in the Menomonie area all of their lives, raising their 4 children, Lynette Smith, Troy Smith, Lisa Wolfe and LeAnn Coss.
He was raised in Menomonie and graduated from Menomonie High School. Alan worked as a cement mason for Market & Johnson for 35 years, before retiring.
Alan enjoyed being outdoors, whether it was yard work, pontooning on Lake Holcombe, 4 wheeling, farming, and relaxing while watching the wildlife or the occasional storm roll in. He had such a passion for classic cars, motorcycles, and attending auctions. Alan had a great demeanor with people he met, he loved cracking jokes and making everyone laugh, he truly enjoyed being with friends, family, and strangers alike. Alan will be greatly missed.
Alan is survived by his children; Troy (Laura) Smith, Lisa (Tim) Wolfe, and LeAnn (Jeff) Coss; grandchildren, Alyssa (Justin) Smith, Trista (Brian) Brantner, Stepanie Rice -Smith(Cole), Zachery (Alexis) Wolfe, Jessica(Tyler) Switzer, Austin (Autumn) Coss, Colton, Broden and Dawson Coss; great- grandchildren, Braylon, Tayden, AJ, Harrlow, Kyle, Paisley and Beckett; his sisters, Peggy(Duane) Ekum, Sandra (Virgil) Delong, a brother David ( Janet ) Smith, as well as many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willis and Gladys Smith; wife, Carol Johnson; daughters, Brenda and Lynette Smith.
